Meet Inside Left
Inside Left is run by Seb Gevers, a Dutch-born, but fully Scottie-fied fan of all things to do with Scottish fitba. Never much of a footballer, his career in the game lasted a massive 3 matches. Despite getting off to a horrendous 9-0 defeat in his debut between the sticks for his school’s U15 side he was recalled the next week, the manager no doubt seeing something in the young keeper that warranted a second chance. It was not to be however, the glasses, lack of kit and lack of skill proving too much in the end.
Following his forced retirement, a successful career with crack Kincorth Thursday League 5-a-side outfit Olympic Racing Club de Aberdeen (or ‘Racing Club’ for short) got his career back on track until his knees gave out a few seasons later.
A full-time IT consultant, he’s married with four kids and is a fan of Aberdeen FC. In his spare time he corrects spelling mistakes in articles submitted to the site and plays FM2009; in that capacity he is currently manager of Third Division side East Stirlingshire.
Seb also writes the Aberdeen page over at The Offside and wishes he would contribute more than the occasional article to another cracking blog, namely Some People Are On The Pitch. Mind you, so do they, possibly. Or hopefully.
