Write for us

Ever felt that serious, intelligent and well written articles about Scottish football are seriously under-represented on the Internet and want to do something about it? Ever fancied yourself as a journalist? Well, keep reading – we might just have something that might interest you.

// Vacancy: League Preview Writers wanted …

Inside Left currently has a vacancy for a writer – or writers – to write our our weekly preview of the games taking part across Scotland. Your job is to give your particular insight into each of the games,  to point out the key elements and players, the interesting stats and facts as well as your prediction of each game´s outcome.

We’re not looking for people who copy and paste from newspapers – we can do that ourselves! What we’re needing is some original insight, with a twist of humour and/or cynicism.  The  ideal candidate(s) will have a broad knowledge of their particular league, whether it be the SPL, the SFL or the Highland Football League that they can bring into their articles.

// Vacancy: Writers …

Inside Left is always looking for talented writers to join the team.

Our aim is to be the most interesting, well informed and up-to-date web site about Scottish football on the Internet.  We pride ourselves on our articles about the game in Scotland. We don’t regard ourselves as a news site (there’s enough of those already); rather, we see ourselves as a features based site, and through these pages we want to tell the world about the game here in Scotland – we’re here to entertain, but more importantly we’re also here to educate.

We’re interested in hearing from anyone who is knowledgeable about the game north of the border and who is willing to write about anything related to Scottish football. Whether it’s a player profile, a famous game from years gone by or an in-depth analysis of the issues affecting football today, we’d like to hear from you.

If this is something that tickles your fancy, then take a look around the site, get a feel for what we write, and how we write it. Our “If You Know Your History”,  “Who Are Ya?”, “Match Programme” and “Meat Pie” sections should give you an idea of what we’re looking for.

Once you’re done reading, get writing and send us a sample of your writing (previously unpublished please!). You can contact us using our contact form. We look forward to hearing from you!
