The Monday Supplement

Aberdeen’s Zander Diamond is concerned that fan fury is hurting the Dons’ on pitch performance. Note to Diamond – try not conceding so many crappy goals then.

The soft goals that the Dons conceded against Hibs at the weekend had Jimmy Calderwood going an even deeper shade of orange.

Meanwhile, Falkirk manager John Hughes was delighted with their win over previously high flying Motherwell, though Mark McGhee sees it differently ..

Proof that sometimes, pundits should just keep their gob shut: “Away form key for Peterhead” said Martin Domin in Saturday’s Scotsman. So how did it work out? Let’s ask Peterhead boss Neale Cooper shall we? Do’h!

Conspiracy theories abound as six SPL managers are invited to a top secret conclave to discuss how to improve football in Scotland. Shhht, just don’t tell those coaches not invited.

James McCarthy is the subject of more transfer rumours.  Best start stocking up on the factor 40 sunblock we reckon …

In all the news, we forgot of course there where quite a few games this weekend.

Notable games include a rollicking 2-3 win for Dunfermline, Dundee getting their second win under their new manager against an ever crapper Queen of the South. In the Third, Stenhousemuir continue their amazing run that has seen them beat, like, everyone (except Elgin, strangely enough). They take on an ever improving East Stirlingshire next week, who gave title-chasing Dumbarton a right stuffing.

Also of note was the top of the table clash up in Inverurie (go Google where that is) when local side Locos took on Deveronvale. The game ended 1-1, while Deveronvale ended with only nine men, and the Banff side’s goal was a bit of a cracker, so we’re told. There will be dancing on the streets of Deveron, no doubt.

You’re probably not interested, but Celtic beat Hamilton yesterday. Yawn. The win keeps Celtic 4 points ahead of Rangers and 1,309 points ahead of the rest of Scottish football. Mind you, the Accies nearly had a point until one of their former players scored a late winner.
