Livingston fans remain convinced the football club will go into administration despite a public meeting held by chairman Angelo Massone. Massone called the meeting in an attempt to unite fans and potential investors after West Lothian Council started court action to recover rent.
But Livi for Life Trust spokesman Don Paul said “I don’t see how it can be saved other than by administration. There are two options – administration or renegotiate with the council.”
Sheriff officers served notice on the football club on Wednesday after the local authority started legal action to recover nearly £300,000 in unpaid rent.
Massone has already failed in attempts to renegotiate the payments with the council and the club now face going into administration for the second time in their 14-year history. The leader of the Italy-based consortium that took control of the club last summer has also been in negotations with former Dumbarton owner Neil Rankine.
